Outcomes
Every 5 years, the Department of Health does statewide oral health screenings. The screenings result in a Smiles Survey report. The 2015-2016 Smile Survey report shows:
- Untreated tooth decay declined by 41%.
- Sealants increased by 46%.
Healthy people 2020 objectives for kids ages 6 to 9 years:
- Decrease untreated decay to 26%.
- Increase dental sealants to 28%.
